In this day and age, many writers wonder whether writing music or any other type of writing under another person is worth it. I am concerned about all the legal issues involved in writing something that is yours and then trusting it off to other people. To me, it's almost like giving someone a free pass to do with your writing whatever they choose to do to it. To claim it as their own, to lay you down with a contract. I'm really not sure about it. But in this time of soaring economic need, I'm giving into the job. Whatever will keep me from going flat broke. The moral sense of me has faded. It's pretty sad when you have to work for someone and therefore, give up your rights as an intellectual property holder of a work. After this honest and dumb mistake, I plan to never enter into a writing contract with anyone again. This will free me of financial and copyright burden, as the work will be my own from this day onward. I vow to no longer accept working under someone else's terms and be fooled by someone else's contracts.
It is starting to become apparent to me, that the only way to truly be fulfilled as a writer is to publish my own writings and sell my messages to people with no, absolutely no copyright issues. I want something that is mine and no one else's!
More later,
Cody
